About This Project

The primary purpose of this project was to widen the road at four locations between the unincorporated communities of Blue Lake and Willow Creek in Humboldt County to reduce the frequency and severity of collisions. Construction activities included installing MSE retaining walls, installing RSP, and upgrading the metal beam guardrails to new standards. The eastbound and westbound lanes were widened by cutting and filling existing roadway shoulders.
