McCullough Construction Inc. has many years of demonstrated knowledge and experience working in the practice of forest restoration and road restoration as a general engineering contractor of choice for culvert replacement, road decommissioning, mastication, bridge construction, and ground development projects.
"As the restoration designer providing construction observation, it has been a pleasure to work with McCullough Construction on the construction of two sites for the Sonoma County Water Agency’s Dry Creek Habitat Enhancement Project. McCullough met the exceptional challenges presented in constructing Sites 2C and 2D, which included managing challenging flow conditions, working in loose materials often below the water table, construction of complex and delicate structures, and preservation of the adjacent valued vegetation. McCullough was diligent in ensuring the work was constructed per the design intent with frequent communications and a noteworthy willingness to make whatever changes needed to ensure the complex function of the design" -Jason Q. White- Restoration Hydrologist, ESA | Environmental Science Associates
"McCullough Construction was the contractor for mitigation construction required for the permitting of the Runway Safety Area at the Del Norte County Regional Airport. As Airport Program Manager, I attended weekly meetings with McCullough and the mitigation design firm engineer overseeing the projects. These projects were complex and included the creation of 16 acres of wetlands on one site and wetland creation in 43 prior roadway segments at another site. From the time of first contact forward, the McCullough team was a pleasure to work with. The Pacific Shores and Bay Meadows Mitigation Projects in Del Norte County have been award winning projects for the design team. The success of these projects lies in large part to the quality work of McCullough Construction." - Susan Daugherty -BCRAA Airport Program Manager
“The new project and the design has been well-received by our staff and guests. Thanks for getting this done in lightning speed and also for leaving the property looking so lovely. It’s a reminder to me that disaster can change into something positive.” Sylvia Hurst, Truett- Hurst Winery
“GHD recently won the “Project of the Year” from the American Society of Engineers for the work we did for BCRAA. While this award was for engineering design and construction management, we couldn’t have done it without you!” Dagan Short -Senior Engineer, GHD
“It was quite an effort on the part of many people to pull it off. Our Construction Inspection staff in particular did a tremendous job coordinating the final stages and making it happen. McCullough’s workers really stepped up as well and got an incredible amount of work done in a few weeks.” Greg Guensch, Sonoma County Water Agency
“The creek is more beautiful and alive than I’ve ever seen it in 10 years.” Phil Hurst, President, CEO, Truett-Hurst Winery
"McCullough Construction was the prime contractor tasked with constructing the Upper Green Valley Creek Fish Passage Improvement Project. This project involved the construction of multiple boulder weirs, a step-pool roughened channel, and a bottomless arch culvert affixed to concrete grade beams and anchored with helical piles. McCullough's project management staff, including Dena McCullough and Cliff Poulton were very responsive to the needs of the project, and their staff of skilled equipment operators, masons and carpenters were a pleasure to work with." Jason Hoorn, Restoration Project Manager- Gold Ridge Resource Conservation District
Fantastic Project. Great work by everyone. McCullough did a great job! I can’t recommend them enough. Additionally, I Could not have asked for more from SCWA.
The project required effort and involved everyone. It was a well-coordinated group of people from the Sonoma County Water Agency to McCullough Construction that pushed this to completion. Great people to work with across the board. My hat goes of to how well a project was designed by SCWA and completed by McCullough. I really hope to work with this group of people again. Everything was thorough, professional and of high quality. It had to be one of the better efforts I’ve seen in my career as it relates to everyone’s interest being represented. A tremendous effort to meld public and private interest successfully. When it comes to projects like this it is my opinion it takes a great team effort and that is what my experience was on this project. I could not have asked for more as a land owner. - Jeff Meyer- Land owner – Dry Creek
